Mini Map Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Will Not Change in Open Beta

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Mini Map – After releasing the third person, this time Infinity Ward released a news post about the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 mini map in Open Beta that the current mini map settings will not change. After gathering data and feedback from the weekend on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer's first Open Beta, an Infinity Ward forum post covered some of the most popular topics that have come to their attention, including mini maps.

What mini map is Infinity Ward referring to? Let's discuss together!

Mini Map Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Unchanged

One of the biggest topics was the design decision for this year's mini map not to show enemy points after firing. The developers have made the decision that they will not be making any changes to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 mini map.

The decision to hide enemy shooting points on the mini map has become a hot topic for Call of Duty players and they have made complaints on social media to remove this feature. The mini map has been going like this for years and of course it makes the developers angry if they make the decision to change the mini map this year.

Insider Info

In the post, it states that the mini map is only designed to bring up enemy points when the UVA is active. This system, of course, does not match the previous Call of Duty games. Developers want players to rely more on their wits rather than just focus on looking at the map from the screen and also rely on their hearing instead of constantly looking at the map to find out where the shots are coming from.

Infinity Ward will use the remaining open beta period to learn more about the effects of this decision. There was another issue discovered over the weekend after the first open beta that the developer had worked on that will have a knock-on effect that improves other aspects of gameplay, including the need for a mini map. But for now, this design change will remain a disappointing change for some Call of Duty fans.
